The Legacy of Loving Our Bodies

I love my body.

Three little humans

My body created, nourished and pushed three little humans into the world. I am grateful beyond words.

And…

That’s part of the blog I wrote during the week to go with the graphic.

Now at the eleventh hour I’m rewriting the post because I got so inspired the other night hanging out with some families at Födelsehuset Stockholm (check this resource out! More coming in a future post).

A world that loves them

I love talking birth and parenting with families. It always reminds me why I do what I do:

We are creating a world where all women know their power. Where all babies are born in peace – in connection.

A world that loves each of them – in all their beautiful uniqueness. Where the love they have for their bodies is a non-issue.

The legacy of our bodies

During the coffee break last night I spoke briefly to a mom about the legacy we are leaving our daughters with the language we use around birth. I’ll delve into that in a future post – I promise! But it got me thinking about the legacy we are leaving them about our bodies.

I want my daughter to love to her body.

I better love my body then.

I want my children to love their bodies. I better get down with loving mine.

Today, on Valentine’s Day,

And anytime you are looking for a little connection, if you have any littles – tell them something about the day they were born. Remember how awesome your body is.

No littles yet? Or want some more connection: Ask your mom about the day you were born.

Maybe even tell her how awesome her body is.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
Much love to you and your body on this and all days.
