Hi! I’m Amy Neuhedel and I love birth. Learning about it. Teaching it. Attending it.
And yes, giving birth.
My pregnancies have been tough! I’ve survived Hyperemesis Gravidum three times. The birth of our first baby was also tough. I own that birth but I knew birth could be more positive, more empowering – enjoyable even. And I was right!
I am awed by my power. Our power. The power of 375,000 women around the world giving birth each and everyday as they have done for thousands of years. A woman’s body is built for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding – built for the job of being a mother.
I believe in mothers. I believe in you!
It’s your birthing year
You deserve to get the care you want and you deserve access to all the options. You may even be navigating a new country with that new belly! With my education and experience, I offer full understanding. I have supported women with many different backgrounds, experiences and expectations.

By the fire or by the tomatoes
Originally from New York, I have a Masters in Education and over 15 years of “Life in Sweden” experience. I now live and play with my family in Strängnäs, Sweden. In my spare moments I can be found curled up with my Kindle. In the winter by the fireplace and during warmer months, in our summer room next to the bright green picnic table – local tomatoes on top.

I Hypnobirthed two of my three children. Inspired to share this wisdom, I certified as a Hypnobirthing Instructor at the London Hypnobirthing Centre in 2011. I'm also a certified doula with DONA International. I trained in Indonesia with midwife and CNN Hero of the Year 2011, Robin Lim, at the Bumi Sehat birth clinic. The birthing moms, came down from the mountain villages on moped, contractions and all! In baths of water and flower blossoms, the babies were welcomed into the world with songs of prayer. I am honored to have attended these births. I am honored to support you.
